Madame Tricot

Madame Tricot addresses the Celtic roots of the word Noel (Noio Hel = new sun), which celebrates the winter solstice. Over the course of 2,000 years, Christian Christmas has also celebrated life and community, which Madame Tricot depicts with, for example, an antique cradle filled with knitted foods from the farm.

Madame Tricot

With her unique installations, Madame Tricot transports the beholder into a make-believe world of knitted treasures: her sausage and cheese counters and plates of vegetables and desserts are full of wit and irony. Her stagings represent a balancing act between fine art and craftsmanship and tie in with the Eat Art movement of the 1960s.
