Hotel City Zürich
Shamiran Istifan’s room at the Hotel City Zürich is based on the 1996 movie adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” (starring Leonardo di Caprio), and shows how joy and tragedy often lie very closely together. The focus is on the drama, which is driven by the politically charged narrow-mindedness of the environment.Book Now
ZÜRICH by Shamiran Istifan
The Zurich-based visual artist tells stories that are closely linked to her own experience of growing up in the so-called two-worlds system. Istifan’s art practice focuses on layered social dynamics, motivated by her experience of the way class, gender, and religion shape collectivism, politics, and personal relationships.
For me, winter is a cozy and romantic time of year. Therefore, during the day, I recommend a visit to the traditional Cafe Schober (Cafe & Conditorei 1842) in the Niederdörfli district.
In the afternoon, you can relax in the Lakeside Sauna.
In the evening, after a fondue, head for the pretty Tina Bar in the Niederdörfli, which is also a designated smoking area.
